contacting StoryAmp people
If a client is paying a monthly fee for a service (that would be you and me), then the company (that would StoryAmp) should have an easy accessible telephone number or e mail address to contact them. We are paying a monthly service fee. I don't see how to contact StoryAmp to discuss my service that I'm paying for. Not cool.

Hi Dmitri. Thanks for your response. I do think that when a fee is paid each month, that someone should be obviously available to discuss the possibilities. You've responded, so thank you.
My dispatches were sitting for a while and I didn't know who to speak with. One of them took off and was sent out. This is a good service. Thank you.
Do you have suggestions as to how to take advantage of the list of people who have viewed my release?
Thank you again Dmitri.

Hi Noel,
Once the dispatch is distributed to the press, it's in their hands as to whether anything else happens. My experience is that most solid journalists ingest everything of relevance that comes across their radar. But that they only react when something registers with them. Since the StoryAmp system sends emails to relevant journalists three times -- 6, 4, & 2 weeks before each release/concert -- they have multiple opportunities to react.
From my experience, tours tend to generate more press than releases. Though having a tour combined with a release is the most powerful set up for publicity; along with great photos and video... and of course music that resonates with a specific audience/genre/niche of some sort.
Thanks for being in touch and let me know how else I can help!

Hi Dianne,
It should still let you connect to SoundCloud after the initial save.
Did you create a Set within SoundCloud with the tracks you want to
feature in StoryAmp? If not, please try that and also shut down your
Internet browser, re-open it and try again.
If that doesn't work, please try a different Internet browser
(Firefox, Chrome, or Safari). If it still doesn't work, please write
back with the browser versions you have tried and any other hints you
might see that might helps us solve this. Sorry for the confusion and
I am here to help you make it work! Thank you for your patience!
Much appreciated,

I was wondering if it would be wise for my band to use Story Amp, even though our album was just released this year on Nov.17? It says story amp works best 7 weeks before a release. Man, I wish i had known that before i released the CD. Should I not even do it?? Should i not even send it to blogs now? I heard albums could be viable for review if the album is not over 6 months old. Is this true?
Support Staff 13 Posted by dmitri on 04 Dec, 2012 04:22 PM
Hi Paul,
StoryAmp is oriented towards traditional press, though we also hit online
and blog outlets. As a result we help our users understand and use the
standard music publicity timing of journalism. We require that you enter
things in time for the three send-outs we do to journalist email inboxes:
6, 4, and 2 weeks before each release or concert. If you choose to use
StoryAmp to publicize your release, you should use a release date at least
6 weeks in the future from the date you publish your StoryAmp Dispatch.
I am sure that some blogs cover some music even after release date, but in
many cases, their goal is to report on releases when they are new, that is
why it is best to set up publicity efforts in advance. Many independent
artists without the experience or expertise of a veteran label behind them
record and distribute their music as soon as it is ready. If you have a
one-in-a-million viral hit on your hands, that is fine. But for most
artists, you should prepare yourself with a runway before lift off.
I hope this is a helpful response.
Thanks for giving StoryAmp a whirl!

Hypebot.com stated that, "Enhanced listings for recording releases can be sent to targeted national outlets that cover a specific genre for $250". How can member recieve more info or sign up for that service?

Hi, there!
I've been trying to get in touch with you guys because I cannot access the artist's profile anymore... I've been trying for 2 days and all that happens is this message:
'We're sorry, but something went wrong. We've been notified about this issue and we'll take a look at it shortly.
Please wait a few seconds and re-load page.'
I even change the browser, I was using Safari and moved to Firefox, but it is still there.
What's happenning?
Support Staff 16 Posted by dmitri on 25 Feb, 2013 04:21 PM
Hi Jamal,
Once you add your profile and create a "Dispatch" for your release, you can upgrade for a "Fancy Listing" for your release. We currently only offer this for recordings in these genres:
Indie Rock
Electronica
Hip Hop
Americana/Roots
Jazz
Classical
World Music
Children's Music
It is $250 per genre, because each genre selected goes to a separate press list.
Does that answer your question?
Thank you!
Dmitri

Hi Carolina,
We have an engineer looking at the bug in your account right now. We will let you know when it is fixed. Thank you fro your patience!
Dmitri

Carolina,
We fixed the problem with your Artist profile. It had to do with the SoundCloud connection, which sometimes causes problems for our users. Please go to your Artist profile again and make sure SoundCloud looks correct. I would recommend that you disconnect from SoundCloud and re-connect so they issue a new connection, which should be without bugs.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thank you!
Dmitri
