Release Date and Payment Plan
Hi,
We just discovered this service but we are releasing tomorrow. Is it worth it to send out a "dispatch" now anyway?
We also want to start the free premium trial, but are worried about not being able to downgrade to a free account if we need to. Is this possible at anytime during the membership?
Thanks,
Zack

Hey Zack,
StoryAmp sends out Dispatches 6, 4, and 2 weeks before each release or concert. So it does not make sense for you to pay for a release Fancy Listing at this point. It's ideal to get your releases into the system 7 weeks before the releases date. You could still do it with 4+ or 2+ weeks, but under 2 weeks simply isn't valuable.
For the Premium Account, you can always downgrade to a Free account with no penalty.
Thank you for using StoryAmp!

I have already recorded and released my CD in digital form through CD Baby and iTunes, etc. I understand that your service releases promotion well before a release. date. I figured by signing up for this that you would send the press release I created after the fact, so I set the release date for today. If I was mistaken, please tell me how I proceed from here. Otherwise, I wasted $250 dollars for a fancy listing and nobody is going to see the information. It just made sense that you would send the same material out anyway.

Hi Chuck,
StoryAmp is built to follow the standard practices of journalists, which includes reviewing music right around release time. I realize that some of the standard music PR standards are new to DIY musicians, but that is part of the point of StoryAmp: to lead artists through that process. We have on the list of things to add a way to block users whose release is too late for our system. Sorry about that! I have a solution to help you out on this situation and will send you an email. Please keep an eye out for that.
Thank you,
